#RedSox Game Summary (June 1) Failing fast. Eduardo Rodriguez was no mystery to Orioles hitters, who hammered him early and often to build up a big lead. Over 5 2/3rds innings, E-Rod gave up 7 runs on 8 hits, including home runs by Mark Trumbo, Chris Davis, Adam Jones, and Jonathan Schoop, and a double by Trey Mancini. Meanwhile, Baltimore’s starting pitcher, our old friend Wade Miley, managed to keep Boston off the board, except in the 2nd inning, when the Sox scored a run on 2 hits and a fielder’s choice. This game might have been a major humiliation were it not for a Red Sox comeback in the 9th, when a series of three singles generated one run, and then Jackie Bradley, Jr. launched a 3 run homer to close the gap to just 2 runs. But that was as close as they got. On the bright side, Sam Travis, Christian Vazquez, and JBJ had 2 hits in the game. Baltimore beat Boston, 7-5, at Orioles Park at Camden Yards. Record: 29-24. Game 53/109.
