#RedSox Game Summary (June 7) Bombed out. The Bronx Bombers lived up to their historic nickname today, hammering Red Sox pitching early and often en route to this laugher at Yankee Stadium. The Yankees started hitting Red Sox starter Rick Porcello at will in the 3rd inning, with a solo homer by Didi Gregorius followed by a pair of singles. In the 4th, Starlin Castro tripled and scored on a Gary Sanchez single. After Chase Headley singled, Chris Carter crushed an upper deck no-doubter to left center for 3 more runs. New York got another run in the 7th on an error and a single off reliever Blayne Boyer, who also gave up a succession of singles in the 8th for 2 more runs. At the same time, Yankee starter CC Sabathia kept the Sox batter mystified, going 8 shutout innings and giving up 5 hits while whiffing 5. Josh Rutledge had the only Boston extra base hits; a double in the 2nd, and a triple in the 5th with nobody out, yet he did not score. New York beat Boston, 8-0, at Yankee Stadium. Record: 32-26. Game 58/104.
