#RedSox Game Summary (June 26) Red tag Sale. The Red Sox tagged Minnesota starter José Berríos for 2 runs in the first inning, and that’s all they would need. Mookie Betts and Dustin Pedroia hit back-to-back singles, and Betts got to 3rd on Dustin’s hit. Then a double play scored Betts. Mitch Moreland hit a solo dinger to make the score 2-0. Chris Giminez got one run back for the Twins with a solo jack in the 3rd. Red Sox starter Chris Sale had a decent start, going 6 1/3rd innings, giving up just the one run on 4 hits and 2 walks, with 9 Ks. In the 7th, the Sox got into the Minnesota bullpen to do a little more damage. After 2 singles and a fielder’s choice, Sandy Leon scored on a Pedroia hit, and Xander Bogaerts scored on a sac fly. That was icing on the cake, as the Sox bullpen held the Twins scoreless the rest of the way. Newly promoted from Portland (Maine), Tzu-Wei Lin played third and got his first major league hit. Boston beat Minnesota, 4-1, at Fenway Park. Record: 42-34. Game 76/86.
