#RedSox Game Summary (July 2) The Big Sweep

#RedSox Game Summary (July 2) The big sweep (apologies to Raymond Chandler). The Red Sox completed a rare sweep of the Blue Jays in Toronto with a blowout. They went 21-for-46 as they polished off Toronto in humiliating fashion. Mookie Betts was 4-for-6, and set a new club record with 8 RBI as a leadoff man. He also hit 2 home runs; a 3 run job in the 4th off Toronto starter Joe Biagini, and a 2 run dinger in the 6th. Hanley Ramirez hit a 2 run big fly as part of an 8 run 7th inning. It was another fine game for rookie shortstop Tzu-Wei Lin, playing in place of Xander Bogaerts, who was scratched from the lineup due to right groin tightness. He went 3-for-5 including a triple, and scored twice. Deven Marrero, Andrew Benintendi, and Dustin Pedroia all doubled. Drew Pomeranz seemed to have his good stuff once again, and though he flirted with disaster a few times, managed to give up just one run in the 2nd when Justin Smoak, who had singled, advanced to 2nd on a walk, and reached 3rd on an outfield line out, scored on a sac fly by Steve Pearce. Pomeranz pitched 6 innings, giving up just the one run on 5 hits and 2 walks, with 3 punch-outs. Fernando Abad was quite effective in the final 3 innings. Boston beat Toronto, 15-1, at the Rogers Centre. Record: 47-35. Game 82/80.#
