#RedSox Game Summary (July 3) A Rising Phoenix

#RedSox Game Summary (July 3) A rising phoenix. The Sox were up, then after a rare blown save by Craig Kimbrel, came back, thanks to an 11th inning game winning hit by Andrew Benintendi. Rick Porcello deserved a win today, going 6 1/3rd innings, giving up 3 runs on 3 hits and 3 walks with 3 Ks. It was looking good for Rick until the 9th inning, when a solo homer by our old friend Mike Napoli off Kimbrel tied the game, making this one a no-decision for Porcello. Texas had a long series of one run innings, starting with the 1st, when Elvis Andrew doubled and scored on a wild pitch. In the 4th, Rougned hit a solo dinger for the Rangers’ second run. In the 7th, Carlos Gomez homered for the third, in the 8th, Sin-Soo Choo doubled and scored on a single by Nomar Mazara, and in the 9th, Nap’s bomb made it a whole new ballgame. For the Sox, Sam Travis and Deven Marrero singled off Texas starter Martin Perez and both scored on a single by Dustin Pedroia. In the 6th, Sam Travis singled (replaced by Sandy Leon on a fielder’s choice), Tzu-Wei Lin reached on an error by Rogned Odor, and Mookie Betts walked to load the bases for Dustin Pedroia. A wild pitch scored Leon, and Pedey’s single scored Lin and Betts. After Nap’s homer tied the game at 5 in the 9th, the game wore on to the 11th, when Lin walked, Betts doubled, and they both scored a single by Benintendi. Sam Travis also doubled in the game. Boom. Boston beat Texas, 7-5 in 11 innings, at Globe Life Park. Record: 48-35. Game 83/79.#
