#RedSox Game Summary (April 13) Never give up; never surrender. This game had all the makings of another frustrating afternoon at the ballpark. Apart from the first inning, when Sox starter Eduardo Rodriguez gave up a walk and three hits, including a 2 run jack by Andrew McCutchen, this was a fairly quiet affair. The Sox got one back off Pirate starter Chad Kuhn in the 2nd on a pair of doubles by Mitch Moreland and Marco Hernandez, and from that point both pitchers kept the opposition under control until the 6th, when Rodriguez allowed a Gregory Polanco double and a walk. Polanco subsequently stole third and scored on a throwing error. As we moved into the eighth with a 3-1 Boston deficit, one had to wonder if the Red Sox were going quietly. Nope. After loading the bases on two walks and an error, Boston sent Hanley Ramirez to the plate, and he came through, doubling in 2 runs and reaching third (just barely; it was reviewed) on the throw home. Xander Bogaerts hit a scorching line drive to plate Ramirez with the 4th Boston run, and Craig Kimbrel closed out without incident. Boston beat Pittsburgh, 4-3 in interleague play, at Fenway Park. Record: 5-4. Game 9/153.
